Annual ONTARIO Natural Building Conference 

Each spring, we host a two day Natural Building Conference and Annual General Meeting at the amazing Camp Kawartha centre, on beautiful Clear Lake near Lakefield Ontario.

Our annual conference takes place over two days and is chock full of amazing presentations! It is great opportunity to learn from leaders in the field and connect with others who are interested in the natural building movement. Each day is packed with presentations, break-out sessions, networking opportunities and great local meals!

People join us for just a day or better yet the whole weekend! We have lots of registration options and rustic cabins offer economical on-site accommodation. 

Our 2024 Natural Building Conference featured these amazing speakers and presenters on topics of healthy, natural home building and design:

• Paula Baker-Laporte - Keynote speaker, presenting - Building Biology: Building for Health Naturally. Paula is an author, founding principle of EcoNest Architecture located in Oregon, a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a Building Biologist. Her practice is focused on the creation of environmentally sound and health enhancing homes. 

• Carolyn Moss - Keynote speaker, presenting - On the Path to Net Zero. Carolyn is CEO of Homes to Zero, who's mission is to help homeowners on the path to Net Zero. Carolyn is a graduate of the Architecture program at Carleton University, and is LEED, Passive House and Net Zero certified. She has been focused on the designing and renovation of off-grid, passive house and low energy homes for over 25 years. 

• David Eisenberg, Martin Hammer and Anthony Dente (virtual) - Authors, Straw Bale and Natural Building Advocates, Code Policy Writers and members of the California Straw Building Association. 

• Sylvia Cook, Rammed Earth Builder, founder and CEO of Aerecura Sustainable Builders. Through Aerecura, Sylvia strives to foster a world where sustainable building methods, inclusivity, and parity are not just an aspiration of the construction industry, but a reality.

• Kris Bailey, founder of Dwelling Design Build -Hempcrete workshop.

• Garrett Johnson of Evolve -Carbon Negative rigid insulation material from Ontario biomass.

ANNOUNCING NEW BURSARY!

The ONBC and Evolve Builders Group Inc. have partnered on a very exciting bursary offering: the Dan Indoe "Pay-it-forward" award! The award will cover travel and one spot at our Natural Building Conference, taking place on April 13-14th at Camp Kawartha, near Lakefield.
